Why waste time on 2.5gbit? Just go all in on 10g fiber, the cables are cheap and easy to run, transceivers are relatively cheap, too.

Only annoying thing is the 10gbit fiber NICs are less plug-n-play compared to Ethernet.

Because I have no device which support 10g out of the box. Also ethernet is already installed to all rooms.

For me it would be wasted time/money to replace all ethernet to fiber now.

A 8 port switch is replaced in about 1 minute.
