History widget that focuses only on github links.

Useful to have it somewhere in the toolbar to go to repos quickly.

Most recently-visited urls go to the top.

Can be filtered. And navigated with arrow keys.

Maybe adding an Omnibox prefix would make it a bit easier to use? Also it won't occupy space on the toolbar.

Here's an example: https://github.com/dj311/firefox-command-palette/blob/master...

I am surprised no one said it yet. The usage of Github logo is now allowed as your own product branding[1]. You probably won't get into trouble, but still you should consider changing it.

For a moment I thought you are a bot because of your highly relavant username.

Where is the Git repository for this project? Please add it as the homepage of the addon on the Mozilla addons site.

Probably it can be found by using GitHop addon for Firefox.

Seems to have been added: https://github.com/madprops/githop

Ever since I switched away from macOS I've noticed how much I miss Alfred (there was a workflow for exactly this), and how much time I waste fighting my browser's notion of relevance in omnibox results.

There really needs to be a high quality cross platform version of a plugin friendly Alt+Space style launcher.

To Linux by any chance? See https://albertlauncher.github.io

I run all the major operating systems (or rather, I will be again soon) for maximum confusion :)

Thanks for the recommendation, though my M1 Pro is already in the mail and my Windows machine (with lots of Linux work VMs) will be relegated to running games, probably over Parsec. And most of my Linux machines run ThinLinc (or are headless).

I use ^ in Firefox’s omni bar to search history. Type “^ git reponame” and it shows a few relevant urls

It has changed a lot since this was posted:

Nice !

Couple of suggestions:

- quick filter to differentiate between issues, wiki, snippets and project pages ?

- use default widgets/colours/CSS/UI (I don't know if there's on now in theming, it has been years)

- login/oauth url forces a large horizontal scrollbar

- display titles along or instead of the current shortened URL ?

Thanks. There's now a better filter that matches if all words in the filter match.

For instance you could type "reponame issues" and it will probably show what you want.

Also the overflow scrollbar should be fixed.

> It simply shows a list with the most recent GitHub locations you have visited.

Open History (Ctrl-H).

Search for "github.com".

Switch View to "By Last Visited"

I actually think I need this! It works for even private repos, and Firefox doesn't do great with history selection on github for some reason

It should work better now since the maxResults and startDate allow more results.

Is this there for Chrome?

Shilling of your own, completely unrelated product?
