Misleading headline, we actually don't know much, it's just simulation and guesswork at this point. What is the expected lifetime of an EV, anyhow?
It sounds like the good old "lifetime warranty" trick: Once it stops working, it's life is over.

If I were to get an EV now I would probably go for leasing because of unknowns about battery life, replacement costs, resale value, etc.
