Meaning with defined goals (intrinsic objectives) instead of defined operations (hard-wired programs).


A defined goal is just a defined operation with more steps.

It's inescapable.


Once you've committed to performing an operation it becomes a goal. As the old saying goes, it's turtles all the way down...


Which makes us living creatures look rather different from machines. Not to get religious about it.
