Can someone explain what DTC actually means in this context? Is it a company selling a physical product direct to consumer via digital platforms (as opposed to "traditional" distribution channels like bricks-and-mortar retail, department stores, etc)?


Yes, it's referring to Internet-only consumer brands like Bonobos, Casper, Warby Parker, Dollar Shave Club, etc. (Note that all of these expanded beyond DTC eventually.)


Funny, in my mind I associate all of those with importing cheap stuff from China and selling it online.


DTC: After reading all his tweets in the thread, I found another person replying with a photo of a monitor where the text says "Direct To Consumer". I guess it means that?
