I'm a relatively successful (no huge wins but a couple acquisitions under my belt) product manager in NYC and have been looking for a new gig. The problem is, every single recruiter I've spoken to has no clue what a Product Manager is!!!
Usually conversations go like this:
"So you're a developer?"
"Ok, so you're a designer then?"
"Oh you don't do either, so you're a project manager?"
I'm pretty sure noone knows what to do with Product Managers.
So I take my search to Hacker News. Are there Product-y recruiters that can help me find a tiny (2-5 person) company? Or am I stuck meeting with all of the people I know in tech? Surely there's a better way!
