Similar: I like https://jolokia.org, which exposes the JMX Attributes as RESTful calls. It can run as an Agent on any JVM, so any piece of Java software (even closed-source) can be monitored.
That being said, not a huge fan of using REST for this purpose as it's quite heavyweight compared to something like SNMP or the raw JMX protocol.
