AMD Zen Architecture Roadmap: Zen 5 in 2024 with All-New Microarchitecture (anandtech.com)

Does Zen3 have the short and big accelerated both "rep stosX" and "rep movsX" instructions?

For the GPU part, heard about a new "near-0 driver" hardware interface.

Saw something about vectorized qsort algorithms, AVX-512 does crush AVX2 (and AVX-2048 will crush AVX-512, this is irony...) pertinent enough to add AVX-512?

AI? really? :(

By which time Apple will be shipping M3 CPUs on a 25-Å process node, and iPads that are more powerful than any consumer-grade PC.

Why do you think AMD will not be able to use the latest TSMC process? Besides that, AMD has been using chiplet designs for some time now and, while they don't employ them now for consumer grade, they may want to increase yields by using multiple smaller dies (Apple's dies are humongous and, therefore, yields must be suffering)

And all this "power" is used to restrict what you can run on it and to phone home. I also have a "powerful computer in my pocket". The problem is that it runs a castrated OS (Android) with a terrible GUI and the only things I can do with it is talk on the phone (99 % success rate) send SMS (75% success rate) use some chat apps, make some louzy pictures (8MP compressed to hell) play some games and write on HN. Editing text is a pain. Making your own programs is not possible on it. Taking data from it is a pain.
