Why the Central African Republic Adopted Bitcoin (bbc.co.uk)

The BBC shilling for crypto scams big or small. Either their journos don't have any understanding of the matter or are complicit in it.

They made a whole documentary about a Somalian guy in the UK running a (already known to be at publish time) crypto scam recently and published a news article about him in glowing terms. I tried to get in touch with the journalist to explain the situation and received no replies.

Some time later the documentary was removed from schedules and the article deleted. Just like it never happened!

Worth mentioning because the BBC has appalling tech journalism and even more appalling journalism around Africa.

It is particularly important given the vast number of crypto scams in Africa taking advantage of people's natural instincts.

Let's sit through another 5 years of inflation in the west ((1/1.07)^5 = 0.71...) and then we'll see what "western" people's natural instincts lead them to do.

Applies very much in the west too. But I've had a lot of people in Africa asking about crypto and how they have seen adverts on getting rich etc.
