This doesn’t even appear to be a misparaphrasing from the article. It does literally state that the target is the M1, for 3 years down the road? Surely there’s some communication error between the source and the author?
The article would imply Samsung is making dumb plans, but I really don’t think they’re stupid.
I think they should aim higher. The M1 was announced and went on sale in November 2020, so if they ship something comparable even in early 2025, they would be 4 years behind.
Chances are Apple will ‘take down’ their M1 before that.
