Russian warship Admiral Makarov ‘on fire after being hit by Ukrainian missile’ (independent.co.uk)

This is the 2nd most powerful ship on the Black Sea after Moskva. Best and newest, launched 2015. Was hit at about the same place where Moskva had been. Russia as usually denies. The video recorded from Bayraktar of the ship burning https://twitter.com/NavyLookout/status/1522577939669438466

The Russian air defenses seem to be not able to do much when Ukrainians use Bayraktar drones - in this case like in case of Moskva the drone seems to have been around when the anti-ship missile came, and probably it was taking attention away in the same way. And this is drone attack on Russian air-defense on the Zmeiny island (those 2 ships were hit near it) https://twitter.com/UAWeapons/status/1522674375295700993. And this is Bayraktar hitting other 2 smaller ships, again in the area of that island https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKntGdRWatw.

In general the way Ukrainians are using drones is just something to behold. In addition to large ones like Bayraktar, they are using smaller ones to laser-paint for high-precision and to correct for unguided artillery, and of course this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxaG4YdsHTg - looks like a typical quadcopter (22v by 80A means that it is maximum 6-10 kg drone) which dumps something like small mortar shells onto Russian tanks with great success.

There’s a lot we don’t know about what happened. For example, the USA could (or could not, of course) have a much bigger hand in such attacks than they let out.

I doubt the USA would actually fire weapons, but they do provide intelligence to the Ukraine, and it wouldn’t surprise me if we eventually learnt that they shared knowledge on how to get past the Russian air defense systems, or even hacked Russian air defense systems to make these ships more vulnerable to these attacks.

I guess it will be decades before we know, if that ever happens.

Is there any other footage of the burning Admiral Makarov, or is that footage from any official ukrainian source? IMO that looks kinda like Arma 3 (but, of course, could be real, I don't know), especially the smoke columns :/

It doesn't really matter, does it? Either way the parents are going to worry until and unless the Russians let the crew phone home and/or the ship reaches a port.
