As controversial as John Deere's anti-right-to-repair policies have been, the company has remotely disabled plundered farm equipment that was taken to Chechnya. On one hand I remain irritated at their anti-consumer stance, while on a different level this is satisfying.
I think it won't take too long until these vehicles work again. Hacking John Deere has spawned a whole community already and maybe they will just replace overall electronics. I guess they won't insist on warranty in any case.
