Agenda-Like Chord Keyboard Using a Pico and the Microwriter Cykey Chords (github.com/crazyrobmiles)

I liked the idea enough to actually buy one of the Cykey devices, but I didn't enjoy the experience; probably because there's actually a lot more finger movement compared to typing on a good keyboard with a good layout.

A few years ago I saw this (probably on HN): https://ianthehenry.com/posts/peggi/ which I thought was a much more interesting idea. I still want to try it one day.

A well-researched one-handed keyboard layout is artsey: https://artsey.io/

Has anyone used chord keyboards here with success? They seem like a neat concept, but I wonder if there are some weird edge cases that make them hard to use day to day, e.g., you can't use certain keyboard shortcuts properly.

I spent some time working with a fascinating engineer by the name of Greg Priest-Dorman, who for various reasons uses a pair of chording keyboards. He attaches one to one hand/wrist, and the other IIRC is loose for setting on desks. With this setup, he quite successfully types standing, sitting, walking around, etc.

I'm enjoying my CharaChorder, but not up to Dvorak speed yet (~145). Note, it is not steno, which is exactly why I bought it. You can do sequential or chorded input.

Not yet but I have a Twiddler still in original packaging but I think it's an old DB9 RS232 so it'll take some doing to interface it to my PC...

Adding the teaching and help modes is a very nice touch.
