Asking Linked List questions for senior interviews?

I have around 10+exp. Recently, I have been trying for job change and most companies are asking Linked List questions in the interviews instead of the role/expertise/something needed for the project. So, I get rejection mails from some roles which we really liked.

Usually, when we take interviews to our team, we focus mostly on arrays/hashmaps/strings, etc as we encounter them in all the work.

Not sure why these companies still want to use Linked List even for senior interviews.

Well elixir has no concept of an array.. the [] denotes a linked list (under the hood), so there I get the use of a linked list.

Working with it as a linked list, or implementing one. Unless you're looking for a role in lower level stuff, I just don't see the need.
