Possibly to appease the Nazis in the military or their backers?
What's really weird is that up to about a month ago every person and their dog was a dangerous Nazi or Nazi enabler simply for having slightly different political opinions, but now one is a Putin supporting fascist traitor (basically a Nazi) if one does not turn a blind eye to Nazis.
Equally weird is how the west is horrible and responsible for all problems in all parts of the world due to their empires and wars and interventions and crusades and regime change, until 1 month ago. Suddenly now the west are holy saints and any questioning of their interventions and regime changes (at least in certain parts of Eastern Europe) is absolutely verboten.
