They buried the lede.

If you want to help the people of Ukraine, we recommend people only donate through official, trusted organizations and do so directly on their website rather than any links shared on social media.

Always true. Scammers never go away. It's just humanitarian crises brings them into sharp relief.

I hate word "conflict" here. It's a war.

Also unfortunate that it keeps being called a “Ukraine” conflict, completely leaving out the aggressor.

It's taking place in Ukraine. We speak of the Vietnam War, the Iraq War (or "the Gulf War"), the Crimean War without making any implications about who the aggressor is or what other powers got involved.

Reminds me of this: "Who Owns My Name? | Hacker News." 27 Feb. 2022, news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28007547.

It's always "The Amanda Knox" story, never mentioning the actual convicted perpetrator's name, Rude Guede.

Suggestion / reminder: aggressors, plural (because Belarus is participating; I'm not yet sure what term to use to describe the events, but it's not pleasant).

One conclusion is that Avast has Russian interests that they are unwilling to upset.
