There's still a 9/11 worth of deaths every single day, it's just been going on too long for people to maintain interest.

It's not the end of Covid, it's not even really transitioning to a fundamentally different phase, it is just that people are bored of making a small effort to safeguard their vulnerable fellow citizens.

I just checked and it's 911 worth of deaths every two days in the U.S.

This is dangerous misinformation that directly contradicts the opinion of the centers for disease control. I demand that it be removed.

Which bit is dangerous misinformation?

"There's still a 9/11 worth of deaths every single day" - yes that is actually incorrect. Over a 7-day average it is only a 9/11 every two days.

"It's not the end of Covid"

"people are bored of making a small effort to safeguard their vulnerable fellow citizens."

It suggests the CDC is incorrect in it's mandate, according to YouTube anything points to the CDC being in error is misinformation. That's been the rule for a couple years now.

Oh I see, you're just being churlish.

The science (of political polling) has changed.

Endemic doesn't mean the pandemic is over, just that it isn't going away

Actually it literally does.

A pandemic is a geographically spread epidemic. If a disease is endemic then it is not epidemic, and therefore cannot be a pandemic as per the accepted definition.

then why isn't the whole world taking off masks?

also to quote the transcript "The pandemic is still here. We're not at the endemic phase yet. But I do think we're transitioning, and I think it's a good roadmap."

It can still be sensible to wear face coverings to reduce the spread of communicable diseases, pandemic or otherwise. That said, for many people this has been their first experience of it as guidance and/or a habit.
