Features can't be disabled OTA for non-payment.


Just do like toyota, have the car call home for subscription status and disable if the network etc is down [1].

But that's not a software update, so my understanding is that it is still allowed.


Depends on what an update is legally speaking. If there is a security vuln due to a config issue and an update fixes it, is it a software update?
