Hey all, I’ve been scrapping and building a lot of ideas for the meaningful product as a solo developer.
Finally launched an iPad app called Limeboard.
To deepen and organize thoughts and ideas, I put the spotlight on handwriting (limelight: synonym for spotlight is our etymology). In the information age, handwriting is treated as an archaic habit and is shut out of the software industry. Just look at computers designed around keyboard and mouse interactions. However, research on the brain and handwriting [1] suggests that the use of pen and paper is important for memory and encoding new information, providing the brain with optimal conditions for learning.
The result is Limeboard, a computer designed around stylus and gesture interactions.
It enhances your creativity with a visual experience that blends traditional handwriting activities with digital content.
“Board in Board” is the most important feature.
By adding a hierarchical structure to the board, you can now create a visual and spatial representation that is different from the note-taking or whiteboard apps. You can visualize the thoughts in your mind directly on your iPad. The intuitive interface provides the value of networked thought as an alternative to file trees.
Limeboard’s business model has a philosophy. [2]
1. No Advertising Model
- Because this app is focused on thoughts and ideas, users are very careful about protecting their personal data.
2. No Monthly Subscriptions
- Don’t offer unfair contracts in favor of companies.
- No one wants to pay $1 per month if stationery becomes a subscription.
