A doormat isn’t going to do much if I stepped in poop of some kind or another, as happens somewhat regularly if you live in a rural area. That might not be a problem if it’s obvious but if you did more walking in grass/in the woods after it might not be noticeable.
I’m pretty sure my shoes almost always have at least a little poo on them. I don’t want that inside.
