Has anyone considered that growing up too slow may also be a problem? PG wrote about the existential pain of spending 4 years of suburban high school doing essentially fake things all the time.
I haven't heard of any studies looking at the continuous removal of teenagers from "real" adult life affecting teenage depression and anxiety (which are apparently rising), but I wouldn't be surprised if a relationship is found
