Art has always been the money laundering system....
There is talk about a secret currency that happens at the ultra-wealthy;central-bank-controlling level...
And what 'blockchain' did was find the chink in that armor, and the next level of currency was brought down to meet that vulnerability...
Now we are once again, tying 'art' (NFTs) to monetary stores of value - and in the digital realm, that could only be accomplished through a blockchain-type of model. (and modal (stats meaning)
So this is a hedge into digital rights via NFTs as a hold on currency-/-value of digital assets since you cant own the physical original, which would by premise, would be universally unique...
So we needed a way to track 'ownership' of an NFT created in digital terms (which are always fungible) --> this is why blockchain based value storing systems are important for storing wealth in the going forward...
In 50 years we are going to be trading IDEAS via whatever iteration of the information age we are living in at the time - and thus we needed a system of capturing, securing, validating ownership of 'bits' of information - regardless in the format for which they express to the perception of the humans' awareness...
I think this is what the ground zero version of NFTs on the blockchain are...
Blockchain-based-NFTs are the currency of the Transhumanists.
>>1650s, "condition of flowing," a sense now rare or obsolete, from Latin currens, present participle of currere "to run" (from PIE root kers- "to run"). The notion of "state or fact of flowing from person to person" led to the senses "continuity in public knowledge" (1722) and "that which is current as a medium of exchange, money" (1729).*

If you havent in the past, I recommend looking into etymology on any word you can think of...
I like the etymology of currency as KERS <-- FLOW -- as it represents the flow of trans-action (the transfer of action/responsibility from A to B)...

And this is why I promote that digital currency needed a tracking system of source-origination-to-authorative-OWNER.
>>own (v.)
>>c. 1200, ounen, ahnen, "to possess, have; rule, be in command of, have authority over;" from Old English geagnian, from root agan "to have, to own" (see owe), and in part from the adjective own (q.v.). It became obsolete after c. 1300, but was revived early 17c., in part as a back-formation of owner (mid-14c.), which continued. From c. 1300 as "to acknowledge, concede, admit as a fact," said especially of things to one's disadvantage. To own up "make full confession" is from 1853. Related: Owned; owning.

The information age is about UNDERSTANDING. (you stand under the weight of the meaning of the subject) -- etymology is crazy awesome.
Understanding Etymology allows for INFERRENCE
>>infer (v.)
>>in logic, "to 'bring in' as a conclusion of a process of reasoning," 1520s, from Latin inferre "bring into, carry in; deduce, infer, conclude, draw an inference; bring against," from in- "in" (from PIE root en "in") + ferre "to carry, to bear," from PIE root bher- (1) "to carry; to bear children." General sense of "draw a conclusion" is first attested 1520s; intransitive sense is from 1570s.
