Mostly incompetence.


Mostly an addition to monopoly profits. If their profit margins weren't so ridiculously large, the previous attempts at becoming a foundry may have succeeded, and they would have put more effort into being the fab for Apple's silicon. It will be very interesting to see where Intel stands in 2030.
