Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Test (Rat) (wikipedia.org)

The wikipedia article says "rapid tests have a market value of $15 billion; however, the market is expected to cease from 2024 due to the vaccination of the global population by the end of 2023." I suppose they're just talking about Covid.

I'm surprised. I thought that we may have opened up a new first pass diagnostic for ailments such as the common flu and other viruses. Visiting a GP, half the battle is them dismissing you, saying you don't have a virus until you return 3 days later feeling 3 times worse. I envisaged a rapid test for an assay of 3 of 4 common circulating viruses, available at pharmacies. I'd buy them.

Rapid Antigen Test - Common examples of RATs or RADTs include:

    COVID-19-testing-related rapid tests

Rapid strep tests (for streptococcal antigens)

Rapid influenza diagnostic tests (RIDTs) (for influenza virus antigens)

Malaria antigen detection tests (for Plasmodium antigens)
