How can you safeguard against programs like this one from Verizon? (verizon.com)

I see these becoming more and more common and the goal posts keep moving. From cookies in your browser to now logging your actual browsing history at the ISP level.

What methods are there to avoid this type of information gathering, besides opting out - which IMO can't be trusted anyway.

Normally I'd ask this question on other forums, but I would really, really like to hear HN's take on this.


VPN, use the Tor Browser or what I’ve been doing recently: run debloated Windows 10 in a VM + VPN.

If none of these work soon, I’m going to start firing up Windows instances on Azure or AWS and browse using them.
