"AirTags" is almost irrelevant to the actual story, isn't it? But it's apparently good journalistic practice: I've seen this headline from a half dozen different outlets the past few days.
If you've got the ability to reprogram it via OBD to "accept a new key" then is the "AirTag" the technological enabler of your theft operation?
This is almost as bad as "Child molesters wear shoes, so do members of Congress; ergo Congress must all be Child Molesters!" Even if its trues it's an unwarranted conclusion.
