SaaS Presale – Opportunity or Scam?
2 points by digitalfirst on Dec 6, 2021 | hide | past | favorite | 4 comments
Guys, have you ever heard about successful SaaS presale? I've read some articles about it and comparisons to Tesla's Cybertruck (duh), but there was never any serious scale involved, more like a dozen seats sold. What would encourage you personally to invest like this? Is it lifetime access or money back guarantee? What is the max price that you'll pay for MarTech tool on a presale terms? Thank you for all of your feedback in advance! :)

I don’t think it’s worth it.

Lifetime access for a fixed cost is a liability, money back guarantees and other extras like it don’t really move the mark.

What you really want is obsessed customers happy to pay you.

Perhaps just build up a wait list (be notified of our launch etc) and see how they convert to regular paying customers.

If they don’t convert find out why (product or price issue or mix or neither?).

Thanks for sharing this thought. Tis is exactly what we did in https://digitalfirst.ai. We have few hundreds of leads waiting on a early bird list and we're going to presale. Still, since the product is not ready yet and they opted-in for ready thing, I'm afraid I'd have to find reasons and assurances that'll help me convince them to invest. I see that you don't believe in any - that's still an insight so - thanks! :)

I am a Founder of SaaS solution and I am still wondering if it's worth it.

I'm just trying to prepare to start preselling my own tool, https://digitalfirst.ai. I'm trying to see this as the truest, most sincere validation that could be, since you're asking people to grab their wallets, not just share their opinion. I'm not hoping for great scale, but even if few people will declare that the idea is worth paying - I'm on good path :) Right now I'm looking for every good tip for the communication and offer. What do you think will convince people most? Money back? Stripe payment? Beta-testers testimonials? Not so sure.
