Ask HN: Where do you go for disucssion about a particular domain?

I often get to a website and I'm looking for background info on whether it's trustworthy, who's behind it, etc. I'd often just like to post a question to other users of the site, or a warning. It seems like there should be a forum (or even a Better Business Bureau type thing) for the discussion of individual websites, and maybe a browser extension to enable interaction with the "forum page" when you go to the website. I guess this is related to web annotation and curation which I guess are areas of stalled progress. Anyway, does something like this exist?

A few months ago I put together a list of things I do when evaluating the likely legitimacy of a website (especially wrt ecommerce)

As @mikewarot said, too, look for reviews of the given service elsewhere (and then determine how reliable (another thing I wrote a while ago: https://antipaucity.com/2006/10/23/authority-issues-online/#...) that site is)

The easiest thing to do is google "businessname"+sucks, or "businessname"+scam to find out of they're really scummy.

Businesses can afford lawyers, which civilians can't afford to risk the encounters with, so any wide-scale review sites that told the truth would rapidly get shut down, or bought off, a sad reality these days.
