Key word - "current". If people had used that same line of reasoning for computers, we wouldn't have the devices we take for granted today. Things start expensive, and inefficient. Then we innovate and things get cheap and reliable.

Yeah but we already have a solution available right now that works well. It's called trains. So why wait for battery tech to improve?
