NVME-oF looks pretty convenient to use, you need two commands (guess since this is directly attached to a switch here only one client side command) to have a remote SSD show up in linux..it doesnt show up as a mounted drive but a /dev/ device…pretty neat.
It speaks NVMe. NVMe is the protocol, and it is used for both storage access and transport.
iSCSI is just SCSI commands encapsulated in a packet and sent over an IP network.
