I'm vaccinated but don't understand why it's so important to force everyone to get vaccinated. Why the fuck would you even care if someone doesn't want the shot? Even the vaccinated can still catch Covid and spread it around (from other Vaccinated people).
What's with this administration, its become some kind of Clown World Totalitarian regime no better than Stalin or Hitlers where people will be punished if they don't obey.
Also vaccinated (and I feel ridiculous having to start discussions with that). What I see is that this has been an unprecedented opportunity for people to rub their ideology in the noses of others. So as long as they can get away with it, they are pushing hard to basically humiliate their opponents. This kind of political opportunity does not come along very often, and they (far left Democrats, and their equivalents in other countries) are making hay with it. Its really the equivalent of a border wall or abortion ban or these kind of things that are not right, but have majority support, and so get rammed through. The point of a liberal democracy and constitution is to protect against this (and thus the court decision) but we're in a time where populist leaders ignore democratic norms
Last week was my first day of work at UC Berkeley. This place is literally straight up 100% totalitarian.
- Vaccination proof required by uploading a scan during the offer letter acceptance process. Vaccination must have taken place within 6 months.
- Citizenship proof required by showing the passport over a webcam (this is OK as employers have to validate citizenship)
- I had to get all 10 fingers fingerprinted at UC Berkeley Police Dept.
- I had to get a COVID-19 test at the RSF Field Center on the first day before going to office. So, my DNA is now collected and secured against passport identity.
- Have to report *daily* what my symptoms are using eTang website.
- Have to get a booster shot after the 6 months deadline passes.
- Daily onslaught of COVID-19 news in the inbox. The tone feels like it is the early days of COVID-19 pandemic when we didn't have a clue and there was a bit of a chaos (March 2020). These emails are there to scare the shit out of you.
- If there is a breakout or even one person has a case, there would be warning emails flying around - the whole thing feels totally dystopian.
It is unbelievable what these people in committees are doing.
This isn't about your or anyone else's health and welfare, it's about conforming and obeying.
You should just pour fuel on the fire and start reporting people for sneezing and coughing. Help the madness completely overwhelm the system and exhaust its resources.
Because if too many don't get vaccinated we can't reopen things or they'll die.
Because if too many don't get vaccined they'll use up all the medical resources and I'll die from some untreated cancer or not being able to get a ventilator after a non-covid issue means I need one.
Both of these issues can be solved immediately by just agreeing to let anyone who has declined the vaccine die. But that's strangely not popular, even with people who decline the vaccine and then get sick. Very few stand by their principles then.
People have to choose: freedom and consequences or neither.
What are the actual odds that you'll die from one of those causes due to a lack of medical resources? How do those odds compare to your risk of dying in, let's say, a vehicle crash?
So it might well be higher than you think. And that doesn't include people giving each-other covid they wouldn't have otherwise gotten.
I'd love to see a table comparing covid vaccine refusal to other similar anti-social and dangerous behaviours. What are the actual odds I'll be killed by a drunk driver or felon with a gun? Maybe we should get serious about vaccines but relax about those issues if they're statistically safer...

Just saying...
