Try running a query with a join between the data centers and having state troopers bust your data analysts. Having the data centers doesn't matter if you can't connect the data.


Sorry, I don't follow. The "connecting people" aspect of FB is just marketing BS. The business model of FB is way simpler, hook users on the scrolling feed and likes, and sell their personal data to the highest bidder.

They don't really need these joins to operate. Many advertisers are picking location-based filters anyway.


It's possible to run private joins and see aggregate results without transfering the raw data.


You would still need to transfer data, and the state troopers would incarcerate you. Aggregate data is still data.


That is ridiculous, I mean cookies are data. You would make it be illegal to access any website that isn't hosted in your state.


you're banning aggregate data now? so like, every business with analytics. may as well ban excel while you're at it.
