Not a fan of the stupid notch. The argument is more screen space, but if you wanted more screen space, how about not giving all Big Sur's UI elements an ugly, unnecessary border?
yah, with you on that. i hope the notch overlays the top menu bar, rather than sitting atop it, so at least it won't be so much dead screen real estate. i have mine (and the dock) auto-hide, because i want the full screen devoted to my workspace, not menus.
Yes it does overlay it according to the screenshots shown so far. But it's still a problem for full-screen applications.
I don't see the advantage - it's a half-baked solution to a totally self-inflicted problem; they've intentionally been decreasing information density in the last few updates - they could just roll all that back.
So seeing as the graphics performance on the previous M1 was roughly equal to an Nvidia 1050, I'm curious what these new chips equivalents are. 2000 or 3000 series Nvidia cards?
