This just reads like a hit piece on someone who doesn’t think the “right things” (and they called him far right? Ok…) couched in a weird attempt to lay the excesses of Silicon Valley entirely at the feet of political conservatives, pretty strange.
Certainly Thiel is easy to criticize. But he doesn't march in lockstep with the progressive Left, and unless you've really drunk the progressive Kool-Aid you should be happy that there are at least a few influential people like that.
The "progressive left" has no real power other than whining on social media (some of which is owned by Theil and his disciples). They are reeling from historic losses in the last election and now they are back to wandering in the woods which is where they have been for decades. The real fear of Theilism is that he and his disciples have already amassed an unbelievable amount of power and I don't see any way to counter him.
Being permanently angry and having a chip on your shoulder feels like a pretty sad way to live.
