It doesn't look like it is actually hi-jacking the back button, just a crappy ui.
When you go to the site it shows a random screen and the expanded list so you can't actually see the random screen at the bottom. If you do click on a selection from the list it shows you the selected option without the expanded list. At this point the back button will take you to your last page (the first random selection) but without the expanded list so it looks different than it did the first time.
It doesn't appear to hi-jack the back button. I think it redirects to a new page once or twice, and as you go back it triggers the redirect again. On Firefox, you can right-click the back button to show a list of your history to jump back to where you want to go.
