No pictures and nothing but memory to document this one, but I'll tell the story:

The guys at the construction company's shop (hackers of metal, all of them) had caught a wrecked up Suzuki high end motorcycle with a 1500cc engine (iirc) and some wild transmission they were all excited about. So they grabbed a little child's go-cart of the scrap metal pile (the 5hp lawnmower engine it was supposed to sport had long ago gone to other uses), weld on a layer of reinforcements, and put their new engine on this cart that weighs nothing.

First test shredded the tires, so they listened to the guy who did the math on gear ratios and sourced some high speed aircraft tires for the next trial. and put a roll bar and a couple of front bars on as a "crash cage". That one ran.

The only way we had to test the speed was to run it on the highway and follow along in a car; and no one had a car that they were happy doing over 110mph on that road with. So we knew it went faster than that but we never had any documentation of how much faster it was.

I was the only person stupid enough to drive it on those runs, I guess 130mph tops; after we put the plexiglass on it. Never got it out of 3rd gear. It had 6.
