The other day I was in an Apple Store and ran some basic tests on two MacBooks. One with 8Gb RAM, M1 chip and the other with 16Gb RAM, Intel Core i7 chip. I simultaneously ran on both machines a Python script that calculates a Fibonacci number non-recursively. The M1 performed significantly worse for any values entered. This surprised me, so I guessed that had something to do with RAM?


Was it a native version of Python?


Yes, the Python 2.7 that comes pre-installed with macOS.
