I remember hearing about how the M1 Macs were very quick to get displays running when they were plugged in and to change the display configuration. I guess the DCP is why.


No, moving it to a coprocessor doesn't really have an impact here. That's just down to their software stack being good.


The iOS software stack? Because the way I heard it, the M1 Macs are noticeably faster than other Macs at these tasks.


Their display controller driver, regardless of what CPU it runs on.
