Screw this "infrastructure" bill. Literally everything in it is fixing stuff that isn't broken.

And where are the details of this "compromise"?

It's an infrastructure bill but it's got waaaaay more than infrastructure in it.

I wonder if congress even has time (or if they even want to lmao) to read the thing in its entirety.

It is tractable. I attempted to initiate a group “dissection” of it here a while back: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=28047538

Nope. 2400+ pages and I'm sure none of them have read the whole thing. Feels like the Patriot Act - written by who? read by no one. Huge implications on us all.

Where is the money for this coming from? Further debasement of the currency is my guess.

Well, they think they’re going to get it from “enhanced compliance”.

On paper all the members of congress has a team of aids that reads the bills and alerts them of parts they might find questionable or gives summaries. Whether that really even happens to thousand page bills stuffed with all kinds of random subjects is up in the air

There should really be a length/complexity limit. Imagine what the bill of rights would look like if it were written today.

Some room for compromise makes sense but it seems we've taken things way too far.
