Ask HN: Did a bunch of your accounts get hacked at the same time?
1 point by readonthegoapp on Aug 7, 2021 | hide | past | favorite | 1 comment

I use the build-in google chrome 'remember my password' vault feature thing for most sites.

I started getting "hey was this you? if not, you are hacked. nothing you can do." and "hey, we're just kind of casually asking you to change your password, not because we think you got hacked or anything, but because you know, 2021."

linkedin was the most recent offender. reddit. at least one other - like instagram or something.

i rarely/never used 2 'accounts/usersname' i had on reddit. linkedin i use a lot. instagram, basically never.

i'm trying to find the current link, other than comical lack of security of all these sites.

it's almost like why bother having a login page at all?

i did have to turn on my corporate email 2FA recently, company rules. i couldn't complain because....security is a joke everywhere it seems.
