What is the risk to EA if this becomes public? Competitors will study it to learn new techniques?

Can the code be compiled without EA's internal tools? If it could, what kind of hardware would you need? And wouldn't it be much easier to pirate the games otherwise?

No competitor is going to dare try to copy parts of it and sell it. In fact, I would guess that some are telling their developers: Don't look at it even if it's right in front of your nose; we want no question of IP issues.


If they do release those sources, it’ll be a good day for GitHub Copilot.
