It's interesting to see the common failing of people in the tech community believing that the apparent simplicity seen on the surface often hides a much deeper complexity. We often fully understand that fact about our own work, but somehow don't believe that it's often true of many other things.
When we find one of the few areas where that is correct, great things can happen: startups and products that disrupt entire industries. But for every success like that there are 100 or 1000 failures.
