AGV Antivirus collects and retains all URLs visited for 36 months (avg.com)

While installing on Mac, they wanted me to enable their proxy so they could intercept all traffic to detect threats. Sounds reasonable enough, but are they phoning home every single page I go to as well? The answer seems to be yes, and they store it for 36 months.

Also: If you don't enable them to inspect all web traffic, there are multiple indicators suggesting I am not fully protected.

Antivirus has always seemed like malware itself. It gives itself special management rights, is unclear about what it does, and is incredibly hard to remove. This seems like a natural progression in the age of data mining.
