I've not seen Western states using videos of tortured hostages to signal boost their propaganda channels. I think this is a significant difference, don't you think?

I mostly share your view on this, but don't forget that when our TV stations show on repeat how our cops are beating Antifa members in demonstrations, that this has also the same chilling effect on us. They are usually followed by interviews from higher-ups in the police force who then frame their view of things. Also, you don't see them followed by interviews from Antifa members, which might have something just as valid to say.

It is a different thing, but there are similarities.

What cops beating what antifa members?

Same with the capitole attacks yeah, we see a lot of people being arrested but no hour long interviews of thought leaders being QAnon.

Antifa and QAnon are the new Christianity and if the US was founded to protect religions, these should now be protected as well, in all their glory.

Disclaimer: Im in China, I may not have the US' best interests in mind :p

I want to explicitly distance myself from your comment. Did you forget an /s-tag?

Western states try hard to hide their torture. I'd assume that's the main difference.

In EU, torture is not allowed. Not talking about the other western states though ;).

It's not allowed in the States either, but it still happens. It happens in the EU too. In general, the Western countries are not free from blame when it comes to war crimes due to complicity with the US :/

Can you give an example of which country in EU is doing the torturing?

Poland had a secret CIA prison which were used to keep Talibans.

Thanks for the info. But this actually confirms what I was saying: EU doesn't tolerate it, it even doesn't tolerate CIA doing this on EU soil.

Since CIA is doing the torturing, there is no question US allows this to happen.

So conclusion: torture is not allowed by EU, but is by US.

It includes a hostage. I don't care about the message of the video as long as its subject participates voluntary.

It's like an execution video. YouTube shouldn't show it because it's degrading to the victim.

Counter question. How is this any different from videos of beheadings by ISIS and skinnings by narco cartels?

I assume that participants in the videos sponsored by Western governments have not been detained/kidnapped and coerced (or worse).

Other than the fact that almost everything is different?
