Before I answer I'll just test whether this account has been shadowbanned like my previous accounts. It is a sad thing that I have to test for this but I'm not putting time in answering interesting questions for my answers to be blackholed again.

I don't think you are shadowbanned, i can see your comment. You're welcome on HN anytime you want to come back. Btw., when i first came accross HN, some 10 years ago, i had this same fear of being shadowbanned. Heh.

GP is shadowbanned. That comment isn't dead, probably just because it was vouched by someone.

GP obviously has strong political views. I don't think the problem is necessarily that they have those strong views, but they could learn how to express them in ways that sound more constructive and less confrontational. I think it is the confrontational tone, combined with the fact that they don't comment much on non-political topics, which leads to the "ideological battle" label, and consequent ban.

Thanks for the explanation. I often forget how good we have it on HN, until I spend some time over on twitter or reddit.
