Just prefacing, I think this is a pretty neat idea/thought-experiment regarding a possible end state of civilization. I am curious though regarding the premise of collapse. The author suggests the end of cheap energy and climate change will cause supply chains to breakdown and end society as we know it, but just today there’s an article on how cheap renewables and in particular solar have become. I would think the rise of renewable cheap energy, which is even more easily decentralized, would be a glaring issue in the authors hypothesis no?
