This poetry is really good

Or at least it suits my taste.

I find most poems pretty "meh"

But these are pretty great.

I don't like rhyming.

Seriously, it's better.

Sort of like haiku's.

Then you'll love the poem there on the front page entitled "Editorial Comments"

Just as an aside.

Commenting in just haiku

Makes you stop and think.

---Honestly, commenting in haiku form really makes you stop and consider what you want to write. Maybe I'll try this with all of my comments from now on.

Haiku is okay.

Gives me a funny feeling.

Not as fun as rhymes.

If a haiku isn't for you

and rhyming is something you do

but you still want structure

then just to be sure

perhaps try a lyric or two.

A poet friend of mine once read me this by a poet friend of his:

  a nice guy against
  a night sky

Did the knight's guy win the (implied) battle?

On iPhone it immediately asks me to use the app. And it hijacks the browser history so I can’t go back.

These characteristics mean the author is either a jerk or chooses a hosting system that’s a jerk.

Either way, I missed the content because the presentation was so offensive.

Oh! Titanic Turgid tumblr beastie,

Is it rhyme on which you feastie?

Of doggerel have you had your fill?

Or do you wait for McGonagall?

The butterfly

That fluttered by

Got flattened by

The fattened fly

The site, I wanted to try,

but I browsed there and wanted to cry,

and ended up asking why

they broke the Back button, Oh my!

the parnasses?

  At Parnassus can you find
of donkey lads and equine lasses
  offspring that one poster tried
  to shorten to "parnasses"?

Wait donkeys are asses, not mules.

Arrg, that came out wrong. Asses are donkeys, not mules.

I wrote

This note

To say

Good day

The end

-- Your friend

Amazing that Tumblr is still around. Someone needs to scrape it and have a backup copy incase it gets shutdown for whatever reason. (Similar to the fate of Soup.io) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soup.io

They really shot themselves in the foot (Or maybe they shot themselves in the head...) when they banned porn.

I liked this one.

Philip Larkin Tries for a Vaccine Appointment

O! the joy of American healthcare.

How is this an American-specific problem? Problems with scheduling a vaccine appointment over the internet have happened also in European countries with public healthcare. For example, Poland has seen some bumps in the road.

"Eschew flamebait. Avoid unrelated controversies and generic tangents."

I realize the other comment more than dipped a toe in it but that's no reason to go all the way.

Agreed. I think there’s a case to be made against the US healthcare system, but vaccinations wouldn’t be my case in point. Denmark which seems to be the leading EU country has only 9.2% fully vaccinated which lags even the most backwards US state by a considerable margin (presently Georgia with 20% fully vaccinated).

I agree. It was frustrating trying to get my appointment, but there weren't vaccines going unused or people getting it ahead of me who shouldn't. They managed to vaccinate people at the same rate as doses became available, and different groups were prioritized in a sane if imperfect way.
