You need a license to stream video from space, they got in trouble for leaving their launch stream on too long once.

This seems like a reasonable change for SpaceX to enact. I am surprised it wasn't already encrypted.


I imagine the added complexity, even if small, could cause issues. If the rocket is in the process of exploding, maybe the encryption isn’t exactly correct, but hopefully you’d still like to receive some (partial, maybe) data?
