When I worked with countrymen it influenced in the sense that I wouldn't mix well if people with views too antagonistic to mine. Now that I work with people all around the world I never know or care about others' political view. And don't push mine on them.
I assume you mean politics and not office politics. In general no except when new legislation creates a new software opportunity, or the government changes how shares are taxes and a car and mouse game ensues.
