Well this probably would have been over my head when I was looking for it (it still is now), but I have a much better ability to take it in after a few months learning how to generate curves for a personal art project (link in profile).
I cheated with SVG filters to get something like the effect I wanted but I’ll definitely be revisiting this to refine it.
